PSAT - OCTOBER 30, 2019 @ ROUSE HIGH SCHOOL


All 9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9. The exam is important for a variety of reasons:

  • College Board’s AP Potential Program identifies advanced placement courses where the student would excel

  • The data helps students identify strengths and areas of improvement


All 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT NMSQT. The exam is important for a variety of reasons:  

  • College Board’s AP Potential Program identifies advanced placement courses where the student would excel

  • The score on the 10th grade PSAT is used to determine participation in PSAT Team

  • The score on the 11th grade PSAT is used as a qualifier for the National Merit program for Semifinalists or Commended students, as well as the National Achievement and National Hispanic Recognition programs. 


What Students Must Bring:

  • Two to three #2 Pencils with good erasers

  • An approved calculator (student must bring his/her own, but PSAT states problems can be worked without one)

Important Information:

  • No cell phones, smart watches, or devices that can access the internet are permitted during testing

  • Testing will take approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes

  • All sub-campus students will test at their home campus and will remain there for the rest of the school day

  • Room assignments will be posted the morning of the test


Don’t forget to reschedule any appointments for October 30th until after 1:30 pm.
