Greetings Raider Families!

An important component to student safety is proactive information. Leander
ISD high schools in partnership with their student organizations provide an
interactive opportunity to learn the dangers of drinking and driving.
Shattered Dreams rotates through high schools, and this year student
members of Rouse RADD (Raiders Against Destructive Decisions) will
present the biennial Shattered Dreams Program to juniors and seniors at
Rouse High School on Thursday, March 22nd and Friday, March 23rd.

The two-day program is designed to educate students, parents, and the
community about the serious issue of underage drinking and driving, by
providing a realistic experience and encouraging them to make positive
choices. The presentation is held before the school's prom, an occasion on
which teenagers are most likely to consume alcoholic beverages.

On Thursday, March 22nd at noon, a MOCK CRASH SCENE will be staged
near the front parking lot of Rouse High School. The dramatization involves
two vehicles and students. EMERGENCY RESPONDERS including police,
fire, and emergency personnel from the City of Leander and Williamson
County will arrive at the MOCK CRASH SCENE as part of the Shattered
Dreams presentation.

Because of the nature of this presentation, additional counseling support will
be available for students throughout the day both Thursday and Friday,
March 22nd & 23rd. Please don’t hesitate to call your student’s counselor if
you have specific concerns regarding your student.

Remember to check out this weeks Raider Digest.
